Ayurvedic Medicine

April 20th, 2010 : Category: Ayurveda, Ayurveda Treatments

Ayurvedic treatment is one of the world’s oldest medical systems. It originated in India and has evolved there over thousands of years. Ayurvedic treatment  is considered as an alternative medicine. Ayurvedic treatment will help to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit. This is believed to help prevent illness and promote wellness. Ayurvedic treatment goals include eliminating impurities, reducing symptoms, increasing resistance to disease, and reducing worry and increasing harmony in the patient’s life.

In Ayurveda all naturally available things are used as medicines. Ayurveda provides us with a unique physical purification method called panchakarma and various ayurvedic herbal health remedies for mental and spiritual well-being. Ayurvedic treatment is a multidisciplinary approach, unlike Allopathic  treatment where  the main stress  is on medicines.

Purification Treatment refers to removal of accumulated toxins or doshas from the body. This is done by 5 methods known as Panchakarma. Ayurvedic practitioners have identified a number of medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for curing various ailments and diseases, not completely curable in other systems.
